NOTICE FROM THE VILLAGE OFFICE

Dear citizens,

Subject: Mess caused from dogs during their walk in open public places.

It has been observed that in many parts of the Community there is a widespread offensive image, which it mainly derives from dogs’ dirt. The image displayed on the sidewalks and the road network of the areas is completely disappointing, which degrades our standard of living, not only at the level of the individual citizen but also at a community level as well.

What is recommended is that when the dog owners are walking their dogs, they must have a plastic bag with gloves and a scarf with them to get the spot immediately cleaned after their dog mess. We must realize that the public places as well as the private ones, are areas that are imperative to keep them clean and uncontaminated in order to prevent potential diseases to occur.

It is certainly believe that environmental consciousness is reflected through our actions, and especially at the moment, we will directly react to the collection of dog’s dirt. We must not forget that, in addition to the environmental cost, citizens are also burdened with the financial cost they have to pay for the unconsidered attitude of the law violators that is directly connected with the cleanliness of the public spaces by the staff of the council, something we consider morally unacceptable and unfair.

On the other hand, we believe that offenders will have to pay for their offending behavior and that is why we urge you to inform our offices if anything comes to your conception. Only with collective efforts and mutual communication we can achieve the objective goal which is not other than preserving our social and environmental structure in high standards.
