This monument was created in memory of Neoklis Antoniadis, who was a Community Leader and an important factor in the history of Pissouri, honoring his multifaceted contribution to the community. By Panos Razis Professor at the University of Cyprus Neoklis S. Antoniadis was the Community Leader of Pissouri for fifty years, from 1929 to 1981. He was an honest, dignified and selfless man, who with his tireless efforts, works and the substantial support of his fellow villagers sealed the life and significant progress made in the village of Pissouri for decades. A progress that led to the continuous increase in the number of inhabitants of the village, in contrast to other villages in the province of Limassol. The monument of the Octobriana in Pissouri Square, was erected in 2016 at the expense of the Association of Expatriates and Friends of Pissouri. "As the Association of Friends and Expatriates, we considered it our obligation to erect this monument here as a return of the least respect and honor to our militant ancestors," said Niki Perikleous. The protagonists of the uprising in Pissouri in 1931 were two great personalities of that time: MP Christodoulos Galatopoulos and the learned teacher and powerful figure of the community of Pissouri Ioannis Erotokritos.

Aristides Potamitis took over the presidency of the Community of Pissouri after elections in 1978 and remained in the position until 2001. He remained at the helm of our Community for twenty consecutive years, leaving good memories and accomplishing remarkable work. Although relatively uneducated, he managed to rule the Community of Pissouri very successfully and in a consensual way, accepted by the whole Community. He had a remarkable way of approaching and behaving towards the inhabitants of the village who cherished him.
