Agios Maurikios

To the east of the plain of Linidia and at the foot of the hill of Agios Maurikios, on the foundations of an old church, the current church of Agios Maurikios was built from the expense of the family of Mr. Pericles Stasis.

From the expense of the residents of Pissouri, the church grew, was maintained and fenced in 2001.

Saint Maurikios is called the doctor of the warts. Taking soil from inside the church and making it mud you put it in the form of ointment on t your beetle. In a few hours the patient becomes very well and is cured.

It is celebrated every year on September 12. The ancient church of St. Maurikios was recently preserved and is an attraction for tourists in the community and for many Christians. Every Thursday of Easter there is a divine service and a big festival in honor of the Saint.
